The Freshman class is conducting a 100 bag shoe drive as a fundraiser. Funds raised will be used for their senior trip and other class expenses. Please donate your new, used and slightly worn shoes to the class. All shoes will be sent to Third World countries where small business people will sell the shoes to people in their communities to help the economy and provide for their family. It's a win win for all of us. You get to clean out all your extra shoes and people overseas will benefit by getting shoes.
Boxes are located at the school, in Brewster at the bank, store, bakery, post office and the Community Church; in Goodland at Westport on Main Restaurant and KansasLand Tires; in Levant at RoadRunner Manufacturing and Levant Church and in Colby at the Library and the Berean Church. Please help the students meet their 100 bag goal by donating to this worthwhile cause between now and December 19th. Any questions can be directed to Mrs Higerd, class sponsor; or any member of the Freshman class.
As of December 16th, we have collected 51 bags of shoes!! Thanks to all who have donated! We now have until the end of January to keep collecting the shoes.
The Freshmen have been challenged to bring in 25 pairs of shoes each by the end of the Christmas break. Can you help them out? Contact any Freshman class member to come pick up your shoes if you cannot get to a drop off box. They will do porch pick ups, just let them know that when you contact them. Thanks again for all the donations, we are still working to meet our goal of 100 bags and we can do it with your help!
